Overview

The three-star Löwen Hotel & Restaurant is located in the German town of Rust, 300 metres from Europe's largest amusement park, Europa Park, and a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Built back in the 1970s, the hotel meets the modern demands for comfort and service on the part of guests. There are two-bedroom suites for families, which are ideal for those travelling with children.

Like most hotels in Rust, the Löwen offers a complimentary buffet breakfast with a hearty continental menu. There is also a children's menu, which is mainly aimed at 4-6 year olds and does not include porridge, for example. However, there are other places within walking distance where you can find more child-friendly cuisine.

Of course, the main attraction that most tourists come here for is Europa Park. But this is not the only attraction on offer to visitors to Löwen. The Taubergiesen National Park is not far from the city and Rust is only an hour's drive from Strasbourg. The staff will put together an alternative excursion programme for each holidaymaker. And in the evenings, adults can relax in the beer garden on the terrace of the Löwen restaurant, while children run around on the green lawns.

The Hotel-Restaurant Löwen is located in the German town of Rust, 300 metres from the entrance to Europe's largest amusement park Europa Park. The hotel is 174 km from Stuttgart International Airport and 238 km from Frankfurt International Airport.

The quickest and most comfortable way to reach the hotel is by car, whether you take a taxi, a rental car or a pre-booked transfer. From Stuttgart, Frankfurt or Munich, it takes 3-4 hours to reach Rust.

Travelling by train takes longer and involves more than one transfer, so it is not a good option for families with small children. To get to Rust from Frankfurt, take the Offenburg-Ringsheim route; from Stuttgart, take the Mannheim-Offenburg-Ringsheim route (change in Mannheim and Offenburg). From Munich you can get to Ringsheim via Stuttgart.

Arriving at Ringsheim train station, you can take the bus express to Europa Park or take a taxi to the hotel door.

Opened in 1975, the hotel-restaurant now has 30 rooms of varying levels of comfort with contemporary interiors, as well as a five-room guesthouse:

Single room 12 sqm, with a large single bed and a bathroom with an extra window. There is a work desk and seating area, and a shower cubicle in the bathroom. Maximum occupancy is 1 person.

Double Standard 15 sqm, with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. Includes a seating area, wardrobe and shower in the bathroom. Maximum occupancy is 2 people.

Double Comfort 15 sqm, with balcony overlooking the garden. In the room - double bed, wardrobe, sitting area with dining table. Bathroom with shower. Maximum occupancy for 2 persons.

Triple room of 15 sqm, located in the attic, with a large double bed and a single bed. Includes work desk, sitting area, shower in bathroom. Maximum occupancy is 3 people.

Quadruple room of 15 sqm, with two single beds and a double bed or four single beds. The room has a desk, a sitting area and a shower in the bathroom. Maximum occupancy 4 people.

Food and Drink

The hotel offers guests a continental buffet breakfast included in the room rate.

The morning buffet menu is classic German cuisine with a focus on hearty meat dishes and freshly baked pastries. Breakfast is served in the hotel's Löwen restaurant or, in the summer, on the patio terrace with its garden and rose garden.

If you plan to dine à la carte at the Löwen (children's menu available), be sure to book well in advance — the proximity of the amusement park can make it difficult to find a table in the evening. However, Rust's dining options are not limited to the Löwen — there is an Italian pizzeria and several other places serving local and international cuisine within walking distance.
