Blur MA Summer Camp is an action-based self-defense camp for kids ages 4–17. The program combines martial arts training, fitness, parkour-style movement, obstacle courses, Nerf Wars, dodgeball, basic sword-fighting, arts and crafts, study time, movie time, and daily character development. The overall goal is not only to keep kids busy, but to help them become safer, more confident, more focused, and more capable.
The camp is organized around age-appropriate learning. Children ages 4–6 join the Jr. Warriors track, where safety concepts are taught through games, stories, movement, and simple routines. They work on personal space, body awareness, stranger awareness, listening, emotional control, and early self-defense foundations.
Children ages 7–10 move into the Warriors track, which adds more mental and physical training. Campers practice emotional regulation, problem-solving under pressure, mindfulness, situational awareness, verbal defense, conflict de-escalation, and practical self-defense skills.
Teens ages 13+ can apply for the Camp Mentor Program. This gives older campers a leadership path with volunteer hours, coaching practice, team-building, conflict-resolution training, and formal recognition. The full camp works well for kids who like active days, structured challenges, group energy, and practical life skills.

Blur MA Summer Camp is a day camp. Campers attend during the day and return home afterward. No overnight lodging, dorm rooms, cabins, hotel stays, or residential supervision are included.
The summer camp schedule runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. This creates a full-day structure with enough time for martial arts training, fitness work, games, creative breaks, quiet time, and character lessons. The program is designed as a full camp day, not a short class or one-hour martial arts clinic.
Camp takes place in a martial arts studio, serving families in the 4S Ranch and Rancho Bernardo areas. The setting is built around mats, movement, instruction, and group training. Campers should expect an indoor martial arts atmosphere with organized activity blocks, active games, and structured downtime.
Families should plan for daily drop-off and pick-up.
Blur MA Summer Camp is built around real-world self-defense, not only martial arts techniques. Campers learn how to deal with strangers and bullies, how to create distance, when to use their voice, and how to use physical skills responsibly. The program also teaches self-defense as a broader set of habits: awareness, confidence, boundaries, emotional control, and clear decision-making.
Younger campers learn personal space, stranger awareness, group listening, and basic self-protection through age-appropriate games and stories. Older campers work on situational awareness, de-escalation, verbal defense, and practical escape skills such as creating distance and getting out of grabs.
The camp environment is described as safe and structured. Activities are supervised and include martial arts training, Nerf Wars, dodgeball, parkour, obstacle courses, and sword-fighting basics taught in a controlled camp format.
Blur MA Summer Camp uses a strong character-development theme. Each camp day is centered around one of the Five Kung Fu Animals. Dragon represents strength and leadership. Tiger stands for power and determination. Leopard focuses on speed and agility. Snake brings precision and flexibility. Crane teaches balance and focus.
Mat Chats are another core part of the camp day. These guided conversations help campers connect physical training with leadership, focus, personal growth, and responsible behavior. The camp treats self-defense as more than kicking and blocking. Kids also learn how to stay calm, set boundaries, speak clearly, and make better choices when pressure rises.
The camp day mixes high-energy activities with calmer blocks. Campers may train, run obstacle courses, play Nerf Wars, then shift into arts and crafts, study time, movie time, or a character lesson. That balance gives the camp its rhythm: move hard, learn something useful, reset, and come back ready for the next challenge.
Blur MA Summer Camp combines active movement, self-defense, games, and character work. Campers train in martial arts and practical safety skills, then apply focus and teamwork through physical challenges, dodgeball, Nerf Wars, parkour, and obstacle courses. Sword fighting basics add another exciting movement-based activity, taught in a safe and controlled way.
The camp also builds in quieter parts of the day. Arts and crafts give campers a creative break. Study time provides a structured, quiet period. Movie time helps kids wind down after heavier movement blocks.
The age tracks shape the learning. Jr. Warriors ages 4–6 focus on body awareness, personal space, emotional awareness, social confidence, and stranger safety. Warriors ages 7–10 add emotional regulation, problem-solving under pressure, mindfulness, verbal defense, and practical self-defense. Teens ages 13+ can step into a mentor path with leadership training, coaching practice, and service hours.
Teen campers ages 13+ must apply for the Camp Mentor Program.
The mentor role is a leadership track, not simply regular camp attendance.
