Since 1985, Camp CARE has been a beacon of hope and joy for children battling cancer. Founded by a dedicated group of healthcare professionals, this camp provides a weeklong summer escape for over 150 campers each year. It’s a place where kids can forget about the realities of living with cancer and simply enjoy being children. Staffed entirely by volunteers and funded through donations, Camp CARE offers a traditional camping experience filled with laughter, friendship, and outdoor fun. The camp’s philosophy is simple but powerful: a child with cancer is still, first and foremost, a child. And like all children, they deserve fresh air, new friends, and plenty of smiles. At Camp CARE, campers can connect with others who understand their journey, share their thoughts, and create lasting memories in an environment that celebrates life. It’s more than just a camp—it’s a community of support that extends far beyond the summer. For families in the Charlotte area looking for a safe and joyful space where their child can take a break from the challenges of cancer treatment, Camp CARE offers an unforgettable experience filled with love, laughter, and healing.
