Kesem supports children ages 6-18 through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled, creative programs and a lasting community. Kesem is the leading national organization dedicated to this unique population of over 5 million children.
Kesem serves 7,500-10,000 children yearly through its year-round programming, including its flagship summer program, Camp Kesem: a free, overnight summer camp for children ages 6-18 who are coping with a parent’s cancer. This unique camp experience provides fun-filled activities and a supportive community, helping kids navigate anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty — reminding them they are never alone.
Providing a safe, fun, and empowering experience for your child is our top priority. That’s why we recruit college student leaders who care deeply about our mission to our Kesem chapters and invest significantly in leadership training and support to prepare them to be counselors at our camps across the country. We also bring on nurses, mental health professionals, and other experienced staff to support our counselors and campers at camp.
