Sports become a hands-on way to learn movement, teamwork and everyday skills at Camp Playball. The program is designed for children ages 3 to 8 and uses Playball’s age-specific approach to introduce the foundations of several sports, including soccer, tennis, hockey, basketball, baseball and volleyball. Activities are built around fine and gross motor development, so children practice coordination and movement while learning sport basics in a format created for younger campers.
The camp also connects physical activity with life skills. Children work on persistence, courage, cooperation, respect, communication, responsibility, positive relationships and self-worth through games and guided play. Imaginative games are part of the teaching approach, helping keep skill practice varied rather than centering the experience on one sport. Arts-and-crafts activities give the week a creative component alongside sports and movement. The teaching style is deliberately creative, using games to educate as well as play.
A day can include a morning welcome, multiple kinds of sports and games, craft time and a Playball closing song. That mix makes the program a strong fit for younger children who enjoy trying different activities instead of specializing early in a single sport. It is also suited to campers who benefit from short, varied experiences that combine movement, games and cooperative participation.

Camp Playball is organized around age-specific sports coaching for children ages 3 to 8. Rather than focusing on one competitive sport, the program introduces foundational skills across soccer, tennis, hockey, basketball, baseball, volleyball and other ball-based activities. The Playball approach uses sports as a teaching medium for fine and gross motor development, giving children repeated chances to work on coordination, movement planning and basic sport techniques through active practice.
Skill development is paired with social and personal goals. Games and activities are used to reinforce persistence, courage, cooperation, respect, communication, responsibility, positive relationships and self-worth. The camp also uses imaginative games as part of its teaching method, so practice can shift between sports instruction and playful challenges instead of repeating a single drill format.
A varied day can include a morning welcome, multiple sports and games, craft activities and a closing song. Children may also bring home crafts and photos from the week. This structure supports a mix of active and creative experiences while keeping the program centered on movement, sport basics and age-appropriate participation throughout camp. The camp remains centered on Playball techniques and standards.
Families can join the Camp Playball mailing list to receive current registration updates. Registration is not open now, so the mailing list is the main published update channel for interested families.
