Wild Roots Nature-Based Summer Camp (also known as “Camp Wild”) emphasizes nature, creativity, and social-emotional learning through the lens of child-led discovery. The camp is rooted in Montessori philosophy and offers a screen-free environment where curiosity, community, and play guide every day. Campers aged 4–12 spend their mornings in nature, engaging in activities such as climbing, exploring, collecting, building, and experimenting. Each week has a different theme — like Science & Nature, Engineering, or Creative Arts — which provides both structure and freedom for children to grow.
What makes this program special is its commitment to balance: a strong focus on outdoor learning and self-directed play is complemented by thoughtful guidance and support from trained staff. Kids choose from various “stations” each day — nature, art, STEM, and community — giving them a chance to dive deep into what interests them most. Social-emotional learning is woven into the rhythm of the camp, with community circles, group games, and moments of reflection helping campers connect deeply and build meaningful friendships. For children who love to roam, create & dream, Wild Roots offers more than a camp — it provides a summer of exploration, growth, and belonging.

Safety is a top priority at Wild Roots. Staff are trained to supervise outdoor play responsibly, especially when children are climbing, balancing or exploring natural terrain. The camp maintains a daily check-in system and a community circle to start each morning, grounding the day in shared expectations. Because nature is a key part of the experience, educators teach children how to move safely through forested areas, how to handle natural materials, and how to respect their surroundings. This creates both freedom and structure — so children can explore joyfully within a safe and supportive framework.
Wild Roots Summer Camp has weekly traditions that shape the camp’s rhythms. Each week begins with a community circle, where themes are introduced, and campers set intentions for exploration. Campers move freely between natural play stations, and daily “choice time” allows them to follow their interests—whether building forts, painting with mud, or studying plants. Group games, songs, and reflection moments reinforce social connection, trust, and respect for nature. Over time, returning campers build a strong bond with the land, with each other, and with the camp’s philosophy of curiosity and care.
Wild Roots Summer Camp runs Monday through Friday (8:30 am–3:30 pm) and offers a weekly theme that guides daily exploration. Campers choose where to spend their time— visiting nature stations, building forts, hiking, doing art projects or experimenting through STEM. Educators facilitate discovery by asking open-ended questions, guiding small-group experiences, and encouraging reflection. Each day blends structured “stations” with free play, giving children both guidance and space to lead. By the end of each week, campers have built forts, created art, solved problems, played in nature, and formed lasting friendships.
