Safety

Safety is built in through small group sizes and structured, well-supervised activities. Instructors are experienced, and the camp environment enables children to explore nature in a controlled and safe manner. Outdoor science experiments and nature play occur under the careful guidance of adults. Because the camp often operates outdoors, staff encourage sun-safe habits, such as wearing hats, applying sunscreen, and staying hydrated, to help ensure that kids stay safe while immersed in learning.

Camp Traditions

Camp traditions at You Are My Sunshine center on curiosity, creativity, and discovery. Daily rituals include morning and afternoon science explorations, hands-on art sessions, and time outdoors to connect with nature. There are occasional thematic days focused on planets, bugs, or color, making each week feel fresh and memorable. For many children, the camp becomes a place to test ideas, ask big questions, and share creations. Over time, repeat campers build friendships and become more confident exploring independently, which fosters a sense of belonging to a community of young scientists and artists.
