Emerging Artists Musical Theatre Academy offers a musical theatre program created to support young performers at every skill level. Run by Emerging Artists Musical Theatre Academy, the program blends acting, singing, and movement in a structured yet nurturing environment where students can learn at their own pace.
The atmosphere is warm, inclusive, and intentionally small. Classes are capped to allow for individual attention, helping instructors tailor activities to each child’s comfort level and experience. Students work on foundational performance skills while learning how musical theatre brings storytelling, music, and movement together.
This program is well suited for elementary and middle school–aged kids who enjoy creative play, storytelling, or performing—or who simply want to try something new. No previous musical theatre experience is required. Beginners are supported step by step, while returning students can stretch their skills and take on new challenges. Shy children are especially welcome; instructors encourage observation and gradual participation, allowing confidence to grow naturally over the course of the session. Many students who start quietly end the program feeling proud, connected, and excited to perform.

This is a day camp held in a dance studio setting. There is no overnight stay, and children return home at the end of each day. All activities take place indoors within dedicated studio spaces designed for movement, rehearsal, and group work.
The studio environment helps create a focused yet comfortable routine, allowing students to transition easily between classes, rehearsals, and breaks throughout the day.
Meals are not provided as part of the program. Families may send their child with lunch and snacks to enjoy during scheduled breaks.
This approach allows parents to plan food based on individual preferences or dietary needs, keeping the day simple and flexible.
Student safety and well-being are a clear priority. The program maintains small group sizes, with a teacher-to-student ratio of approximately 1:15, allowing instructors to closely supervise activities and provide personal attention.
Children are under adult supervision at all times during classes, rehearsals, and transitions. The studio setting, combined with consistent routines and attentive instructors, creates a safe, supportive space where students can focus on learning and creativity with confidence.
As a day program, students are expected to manage their basic personal needs, with support from staff when appropriate. Families are encouraged to share any relevant medical information in advance so instructors are aware of individual considerations.
In the event of minor issues, basic first aid can be provided. Breaks are built into the day to allow students to rest, hydrate, and reset between activities, supporting overall comfort and well-being.
A core tradition of Emerging Artists Musical Theatre Academy is creating a positive ensemble experience where every child feels seen and supported. Instructors focus on encouragement rather than pressure, helping students build confidence through participation and teamwork.
Another tradition is learning through doing. Students rehearse, play theatre games, and gradually apply new skills in performance settings. The program values creativity and effort over perfection, helping children feel proud of their progress.
The academy also emphasizes resourcefulness and creativity. Costumes are approached thoughtfully, with guidance provided in advance and encouragement to use items from home or get creative rather than purchasing new outfits.
The activities program introduces students to musical theatre in an engaging, age-appropriate way. Each day includes a mix of acting exercises, vocal work, movement, and theatre games designed to build confidence and collaboration. Instructors adjust activities to meet students where they are, making the experience accessible for beginners and rewarding for those with prior experience.
Rehearsals focus on applying skills to scenes and songs, helping students understand how performance comes together. Shy students are supported gently, with opportunities to observe before stepping forward when ready.
The session concludes with a short performance for family and friends on the final day. This showcase allows students to celebrate their work and growth together, often becoming a highlight of the experience. Extended family members are encouraged to watch remotely.
Emerging Artists Musical Theatre Academy is designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and connection. With its small group sizes, flexible approach to skill levels, and emphasis on encouragement, the program offers a welcoming entry point into musical theatre for a wide range of children.
