The day begins with Science Camp from 9:00 AM to noon. Instructors introduce key ideas and then move quickly into hands-on work, with experiments and STEM challenges built around topics such as chemical reactions, simple machines, physics, and engineering. Published examples include erupting-volcano projects, glow-in-the-dark bouncy balls, and kaleidoscopes. The morning format emphasizes exploration, observation, problem solving, and collaboration through age-appropriate projects. Movement and relaxation breaks are mixed into the morning to keep the pace varied.
After lunch, campers transition into GrowFit’s All-Sports program for the afternoon. This portion of the day centers on team games and active play, with Berkeley activities including soccer, basketball, gaga ball, and bounce-house tag. GrowFit describes its sports format as rotating through multiple activities rather than focusing on a single sport.
The full camp day ends at 4:00 PM. Each day closes with a short celebration of what campers discovered or accomplished, and the final day includes a presentation of science projects. GrowFit requires specialty camps such as Science Camp to be booked for a full week because the curriculum progresses across the week.
