Accommodation
inGenius STEAM Summer Camp is a day camp. Students attend classes during their enrolled program hours and return home after pick-up. Overnight stays are not part of the program.
The camp runs at Canyon Crest Academy. Families can choose a half-day morning schedule, a half-day afternoon schedule, a full-day schedule, or a full-day plus after-camp schedule. Morning drop-off begins at 8:30 AM. Students enrolled only in the morning program are picked up around midday, while full-day and after-camp students stay later according to their schedule.
The program does not include dorms, cabins, hotel arrangements, residential staff, or evening supervision beyond the listed after-camp pick-up period. Families traveling from outside the area would need to arrange lodging and transportation separately.
This format works best for local families or visitors who already have their own San Diego-area accommodations. The camp provides daytime academic and enrichment programming only.
Meals
Students may bring lunch from home or buy lunch through the Parent Portal. The hot lunch menu is tentative and includes cheese pizza on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Asian-style entree choices with chow mein and fried rice on Tuesday and Thursday. Juice is included with purchased lunch.
Students with food allergies are strongly encouraged to bring lunch from home. This is the safest option because it gives families direct control over ingredients and avoids relying on the camp lunch menu.
An afternoon snack is provided to every student. Families may also pack extra snacks. A backpack and water bottle are recommended.
Half-day students may attend lunch if they are enrolled in a half-day program. Families can either order lunch through the Parent Portal or send lunch from home. If a student forgets lunch and tells staff, a meal will be provided and charged to the family account.
Safety
The camp uses a structured schedule with defined drop-off and pick-up windows. Campus opens at 8:30 AM, and earlier drop-off is not available. If a student arrives late or needs to leave early, someone is available at the front to sign the student in or out.
Teachers come from across San Diego County and have California teaching credentials, private school teaching experience, or college teaching experience. All summer programs are conducted in English, and students are expected to be proficient in English at or above grade level.
Learning materials and equipment are provided. Students do not need to bring their own computers. In most classes, computers are shared to encourage teamwork and collaboration. In advanced programming classes, each student receives an individual computer for use in class.
Lost items are kept in a box by the sign-in table until the end of the summer program. The public camp information does not list a staff-to-student ratio or a detailed emergency policy.
