Campers step into realistic business, career, and money-management challenges instead of only hearing about them. JA Camps combines three age-banded programs at the Wendy Gillespie Center for Junior Achievement: JA BizTown for students entering grades 4-6, JA Finance Park for grades 7-9, and JA Titan for grades 9-12. Across the tracks, campers work in teams, practice job-readiness skills, explore entrepreneurship, and connect classroom ideas to decisions people make at work and with money.
JA BizTown centers on building a business venture and preparing for a full BizTown simulation. Campers create a business plan and product model, assess skills and personality traits, build resumes, apply and interview for jobs, present proposals, and finish the week working in a simulated community of 21 life-sized businesses. JA Finance Park shifts the focus toward careers and personal finance, using career exploration, resumes, interviews, budgeting, credit, loans, interest, investing, business-model work, and a final life-simulation budget for a virtual family.
JA Titan gives older campers a shorter, simulation-based business experience. Campers take on CEO-style decisions involving production, research and development, marketing, operations, economics, and strategy before a final business competition. The overall format suits children and teens who learn best by doing, collaborating, presenting ideas, and testing decisions in structured simulations.

JA Camps is organized as three separate tracks with activities matched to school grade. JA BizTown serves students entering grades 4-6 and follows a five-day progression. Campers begin by designing a business venture, then complete skills and personality work, build resumes, apply and interview for jobs, present a business proposal, and prepare for the BizTown simulation. The week culminates with campers working in the 10,000-square-foot mini-city, where the broader BizTown program models jobs, paychecks, banking, taxes, voting, and business profit.
JA Finance Park serves students entering grades 7-9 in a five-day sequence focused on careers and financial decision-making. Activities include future planning, investing, entrepreneurship, business models, resume building, career-interest assessments, professional interviews, credit, loans, interest, budgeting, and a business pitch. Campers finish in the Mission Fed JA Finance Park life simulation, managing a budget for a virtual family.
JA Titan serves students entering grades 9-12 over three mornings. Campers explore business, economics, and the world of work through a simulation in which they act as business leaders. The program covers production, research and development, marketing, economic factors, strategy, and decision outcomes, ending with a Titan business competition.

JA reports a counselor-to-camper ratio of no more than 1:15. All camp staff are background checked and complete mandatory trainings. Participation also uses published liability, medical, medication, and media releases. The medical release authorizes JA officials to contact the people named on the form and allows named physicians to provide treatment considered necessary for a child’s health. A separate medication release allows Junior Achievement staff to give medication with parent or guardian permission.
JA’s medical release allows officials to contact the people named on the participant’s form and authorizes named physicians to provide treatment considered necessary for the child’s health. A separate medication release lets a parent or guardian authorize Junior Achievement staff to give medication. The parent or guardian is responsible for safe delivery of the medication to and from the facility and for notifying staff of changes to its use or prescribed treatment.
