SwiftKick Martial Arts Summer Camps are themed martial arts day camps for children and teens. The camp lineup includes Ninja Camp, Pokémon-inspired Camp, Samurai Camp for Teens, PlayItSafe Defense Kid Power Camp, and PlayItSafe Defense Princess Power Camp. Programs are offered through SwiftKick’s San Diego and Carlsbad studio locations, with specific camp themes tied to different dates, age groups, and locations.
The camps are built around movement, character, confidence, and social-emotional growth. Campers may practice martial arts techniques, agility drills, obstacle challenges, mindfulness, breathwork, teamwork, creative missions, roleplay, self-defense skills, and theme-based crafts. The overall goal is not only to keep kids active, but to help them build focus, discipline, resilience, leadership, communication, and emotional regulation.
The younger camps begin at age 5 and are a strong fit for children who enjoy active play, imaginative themes, martial arts, teamwork, and screen-free challenges. Pokémon-inspired Camp and Ninja Camp are designed for kids ages 5 and up. Princess Power Camp is designed for girls ages 5–9. Samurai Camp gives teens a more mature martial arts experience with Japanese sword techniques, bushido values, discipline, and leadership.
This is a good choice for campers who want summer to feel like an adventure, not just a class.

SwiftKick Martial Arts Summer Camps are day camps. Campers attend during the scheduled camp hours and return home afterward. No overnight lodging, cabins, dorm rooms, hotel stays, transportation, or residential supervision is included.
Camp times vary by program. Ninja Camp runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Pokémon-inspired Camp has both a Rancho Bernardo half-day option from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and a Carlsbad full-day option from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Samurai Camp for Teens runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM over a two-week period. Dates and times for Kid Power Camp and Princess Power Camp are listed as to be announced.
The camps take place in martial arts studio settings. Campers spend time in instructor-led movement, training, drills, games, creative activities, and theme-based lessons. Families should plan for daily drop-off and pick-up based on the selected camp and location.
Campers should bring a packed lunch and water bottle for camps where food is required or where the schedule crosses a meal period. Ninja Camp specifically asks campers to bring a packed lunch, a water bottle, and readiness for adventure. The Pokémon-inspired camp day also includes an active schedule, so families should prepare food and water based on the selected half-day or full-day session.
Prepared meals, catered lunch, snack service, refrigeration, microwave access, special diet support, and allergy-specific food handling could not be confirmed from the available camp information.
Since these camps involve martial arts, obstacle challenges, games, movement, and creative activities, water is important. Food should be simple and easy for the child to manage in a studio camp setting. For full-day options, a full lunch and snack are practical. For half-day options, families should still send water and any food the child may need during the camp block.
SwiftKick camps are structured around supervised martial arts instruction, guided challenges, and theme-based activities. The camps are led by instructors described as experienced, supportive, and focused on creating an inclusive environment where beginners and current martial arts students can participate.
The broader camp approach includes physical development, mindfulness, body and spatial awareness, calming the nervous system, emotional regulation, leadership, social skills, and creativity. These elements support safer participation because campers are not only moving but also practicing self-control, respect, focus, communication, and teamwork.
PlayItSafe Defense camps add a personal-safety focus. Kid Power Camp covers bully prevention, friendship drama, stranger awareness, age-appropriate physical self-defense, confidence, safe and unsafe touch, and speaking up to trusted adults. Princess Power Camp combines confidence, verbal defense, physical self-protection, boundaries, and awareness in a themed format.
SwiftKick’s summer tradition is theme-based martial arts. Each camp has its own story world and skill focus, but they share a common foundation: movement, character, confidence, and respectful challenge.
Ninja Camp uses obstacle courses, ninja-themed crafts, games, martial arts training, and lessons in ninja history and character. Pokémon-inspired Camp turns martial arts fundamentals into an imagination-based adventure with elemental move sets, team missions, strategy, creature-inspired challenges, awards, and a custom Pokédex-style activity. Samurai Camp gives teens a more focused warrior path through Japanese sword techniques, bushido values, discipline, honor, courage, and leadership.
The PlayItSafe Defense camps add a tradition of safety and empowerment. Kid Power Camp teaches children how to handle bullying, teasing, exclusion, arguments, encounters with strangers, unsafe touch, and self-defense situations. Princess Power Camp blends princesses, superheroes, crafts, fashion, tea-party etiquette, verbal defense, and physical self-protection.
SwiftKick Martial Arts Summer Camps offer different activity tracks under one martial arts camp umbrella. Ninja Camp focuses on martial arts techniques, obstacle course challenges, agility, grit, ninja-themed crafts, organized games, ninja history, culture, focus, discipline, and confidence. It is active, fast-paced, and designed for kids ages 5 and up.
Pokémon-inspired Camp combines martial arts fundamentals with an imaginative adventure format. Campers practice age-appropriate striking, blocking, agility drills, weapon techniques, stretching, calming breathwork, team-building games, roleplay, creature-inspired moves, themed missions, strategy, awards, and milestone celebrations. No experience is required.
Samurai Camp for Teens focuses on Japanese sword techniques, proper handling, bushido philosophy, honor, courage, discipline, martial arts drills, movement, focus games, respect, resolve, and leadership. It is designed for teens ready for a more mature martial arts theme.
PlayItSafe Defense Kid Power Camp teaches bully prevention, friendship drama skills, stranger awareness, self-defense, communication, safe and unsafe touch, and trusted-adult reporting. Princess Power Camp adds a themed confidence format for girls ages 5–9, combining princesses, superheroes, crafts, fashion, etiquette, verbal defense, and self-protection.
