Accommodation
MJ Sports Camps operates as a day camp on a modern, thoughtfully designed campus. The facility includes a full indoor basketball court, allowing for structured games and skill development regardless of weather. Campers stay active in a controlled indoor environment while still enjoying high-energy play.
A rooftop turf area adds an outdoor sports component. It’s used for team challenges, drills, and fresh-air activities that bring variety to the schedule.
Inside, spacious classrooms provide room for enrichment sessions, creative projects, and downtime between activity blocks. The layout supports smooth transitions and organized group rotations.
Every space is intentionally designed to support both athletic programming and meaningful community interaction.
Meals
Lunch is available for an additional fee, or campers may bring food from home.
The weekly menu includes kid-friendly favorites such as macaroni and cheese, baked ziti, sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and pizza, typically paired with fruit or sides. Thursday menus vary by age division, offering separate options for junior and senior campers.
All food served through the camp meal program is Glatt Kosher and Chalav Yisroel, aligning with the camp’s Jewish standards.
Lunch periods are supervised and structured within the daily schedule. Campers are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated during active play.
Safety
Supervision and staffing are central to the camp’s structure. As a Jewish community-based program, MJ Sports Camps places strong emphasis on responsibility, respect, and role modeling.
Counselors are personally selected to ensure children are guided by qualified leaders who are both capable and deeply invested in working with kids. Staff members serve as mentors, helping maintain a positive and structured environment.
Campers move through the day in organized groups, rotating between the indoor court, rooftop turf, and classroom spaces under supervision. Clear expectations help maintain a respectful camp culture.
The contained campus layout allows consistent oversight while still giving children space to move and play.
Health & Medicine
Active days require preparation. Campers should arrive dressed for sports and outdoor activity. Hydration and rest breaks are built into the schedule.
Families are encouraged to share allergy information, dietary restrictions, or medical needs during registration. Since food options follow Glatt Kosher and Chalav Yisroel standards, families can review menu details in advance.
If a camper feels unwell during the day, staff will supervise the child and contact a parent or guardian if needed.
Camp Traditions
Community and Jewish identity are woven into the camp experience. MJ Sports Camps blends athletic programming with a strong sense of belonging and shared values.
Team spirit is reinforced through friendly competitions, scrimmages, and group challenges. Campers celebrate effort, improvement, and sportsmanship.
Counselors play a major role in shaping traditions. Because staff members are carefully chosen and see themselves as mentors, campers often form meaningful connections with them. This mentorship strengthens the sense of community.
Weekly rhythms—like rooftop games, indoor tournaments, and Friday pizza lunches—become anticipated highlights. Over time, campers develop pride in being part of a Jewish camp environment that balances sports, friendship, and values.
