Overview

Paint Box Studio Summer Camp focuses on art, crafts, and sewing in a warm studio environment. The camp’s described summer format includes regular Art Camp and Super Sewers Camp, with a mix of creative exploration, project work, sewing practice, free art, and relaxed breaks during the day.

The program is especially suited for children who enjoy making physical projects they can take home. Art Camp includes mediums such as clay, printing, painting, sketching, 3D art, canvas painting, sculpture, terrariums, craft projects, and art-and-sew activities. Super Sewers Camp is more sewing-focused, with time for machine tutorials, threading, buttonholes, special stitching, embroidery, knitting, crochet, clothing projects, dolls, bags, stuffed animals, pillows, and other fabric-based work.

The camp age structure is grade-based. Half-day camp is described for Pre-K and kindergarten students, while full-day camp is available for children entering 1st grade and up. Super Sewers Camp is listed for grade 3 and up only. That makes the camp more flexible than a one-size-fits-all art program. Younger campers can start with shorter creative sessions, while older children can spend more time building sewing skills, finishing larger projects, and working with more independence.

Small group sizes are part of the camp model. Art Camp is listed with a 10-student maximum, while Super Sewers is listed with a 7-student maximum.

Why We Love It

  • Hands-on making: Campers create real projects with paint, fabric, thread, clay, beads, and mixed media.
  • Small creative groups: Art Camp and Super Sewers use small group limits, which fits the hands-on format.
  • Sewing depth: Super Sewers offers more than basic crafts, with machine practice, stitching, embroidery, and project choice.

Best For

  • Young makers: A good fit for children who like building, painting, sewing, and taking projects home.
  • Patient creators: Best for campers who enjoy step-by-step work and can stay with a project.
  • Sewing fans: Strong match for older children ready for fabric, machines, plush projects, clothes, bags, or dolls.

Accommodation and Meals

Accommodation

Paint Box Studio Summer Camp is a day camp. It does not include overnight lodging, cabins, dorm rooms, or residential supervision. Campers attend during the day and return home after their scheduled session.

The camp format includes full-day and half-day options. Full-day camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with optional aftercare from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Half-day camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is available to Pre-K and kindergarten students.

Because this is a studio-based day program, families should plan for daily drop-off and pick-up. The daily schedule also includes an off-studio lunchtime at a nearby park, so campers may spend part of the day outside the studio as part of the regular rhythm. A walking permission slip is included among the studio’s forms.

Meals

The camp agenda includes both snack time and lunch time. Snack time appears in the morning schedule for both Super Sewers and Regular Camp. The extended care schedule also includes snack time, along with project finishing, machine practice, beading, and free art.

Safety

Paint Box Studio uses several parent forms to support basic camp safety and supervision. The student information form asks for parent or guardian contact details, emergency contacts, health insurance information, medical conditions, dietary restrictions, food or drug allergies, and authorized pick-up names. This gives the studio key information before a child joins the program.

The liability release form asks a parent or legal guardian to give consent for the minor to participate. It also includes permission for the studio to seek emergency treatment if needed, with the parent or guardian accepting financial responsibility for emergency treatment costs.

The camp model also uses small group limits. Art Camp is listed with a maximum of 10 students, while Super Sewers is listed with a maximum of 7 students. That matters for a hands-on studio camp, especially when children are using sewing machines, art supplies, small tools, or working through multi-step projects.

The terms also ask campers not to bring valuable items, and the studio states that it is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Activities Program

Paint Box Studio Summer Camp is organized around hands-on creative work, with different tracks for art-focused campers and sewing-focused campers. Regular Camp begins with free art, then moves into new-medium exploration, such as clay, printing, painting, sketching, and 3D art, before longer-term projects. Super Sewers Camp gives more time to sewing skills, including machine tutorials, fabric projects, stuffed animals, pillows, dolls, clothing, bags, and decorative details. Both formats include breaks, lunch, and afternoon creative time, so the day has a mix of focus, movement, and open-ended making.
