Step into a rehearsal process where every camper has a place in the cast. Musical Theater campers ages 6–14 spend their days learning acting, voice, speech, dance, choreography, improvisation, physical comedy, stage presence, and the practical skills that move a show from script to performance. No audition is required to attend camp or receive a part. Teachers observe campers during the opening days and assign roles with each child’s strengths and comfort level in mind.
The day combines focused arts instruction with time to connect as a wider camp group. Campers begin together with a warm-up and social circle, then move into age-appropriate peer groups for morning Musical Theater workshops. Skills developed in acting, voice, and dance are brought into the afternoon full-cast rehearsal, giving children a clear link between technique and performance. Snack, lunch, play periods, group games, photo sessions, and Friday Spirit Day activities add breaks and shared camp time.
The two-week experience builds toward a final performance for family and friends. PAW describes its environment as nurturing, non-competitive, and focused on arts education. Instructors have professional or academic backgrounds in their arts disciplines, prior experience working with children, and criminal background checks. The West LA program is a day camp, with regular hours from morning through mid-afternoon and optional supervised early drop-off and extended play.
