Days in Coronado center on tennis, movement, and skill-building, with camp tracks designed for children from early elementary ages through older teens. Younger Red & Orange Ball campers work on hand-eye coordination and tennis fundamentals through age-appropriate drills and games. Junior Tennis campers build strokes, grips, volleys, footwork, serving, returns, and strategy, while the High Performance track adds more intensive drilling, tactical patterns, fitness, point play, and match-play work for experienced players who meet its UTR requirement.
Some tracks expand the day beyond the court. Courts to Coast blends organized park games and group activities with tennis, then finishes with supervised games and activities at the beach. Junior Tennis and Paddleboarding pairs tennis with supervised stand-up paddleboarding for campers who want a court-and-water combination. Across the tennis pathway, children can move from introductory red- and orange-ball formats toward full-court play, stronger rally skills, serving, positioning, and tactical decision-making.
Programs are based around Coronado Tennis Center, where Impact Activities operates eight tennis courts along with a pro shop and front-desk services. The range of camp formats makes the card relevant to beginners learning basic movement and racket skills, active kids who enjoy varied outdoor days, and competitive juniors seeking a more focused training environment.

The camp lineup uses several distinct tracks rather than one identical daily format. Red & Orange Ball Camp is the entry point for younger children, emphasizing hand-eye coordination, fundamentals, age-appropriate drills, and games. Coronado Junior Tennis Camp develops a broader tennis foundation through strokes, grips, volleys, footwork, serves, returns, strategy, drills, and games. High Performance Camp is designed for older players who meet the published UTR threshold and focuses on intensive drilling, strategic patterns, shot selection, movement, fitness, point play, and match play.
Other options combine tennis with a wider active day. Courts to Coast starts with organized park games and group activities, moves to tennis at the center, and finishes with supervised beach games and activities. Junior Tennis and Paddleboarding joins tennis instruction with supervised stand-up paddleboarding, creating a court-and-water format for campers in its published age range.
The overall structure lets families choose between a tennis-centered development track and programs that mix tennis with additional outdoor activities. Within the tennis pathway, activities progress from basic movement and racket control toward rally consistency, serving, positioning, strategy, conditioning, and competitive point construction.
For Coronado Junior Tennis and High Performance camp sessions, participants should bring their own lunch and water for the day.
Campers use Coronado Tennis Center under facility rules that require non-marking shoes on the courts and allow instruction only from authorized coaches. Junior participants using a ball machine must be supervised. For programs that add coastal activities, the published program descriptions specify supervised stand-up paddleboarding or supervised beach games and activities.
Racket-sports operations in Coronado are led by Joel Myers, the General Manager and Director of Rackets, who also directs the High Performance camp. The Coronado center’s coaching roster includes RSPA- and USPTA-certified professionals, former collegiate players, and instructors with professional playing or coaching experience. Camp roles vary by track: introductory programs focus on age-appropriate fundamentals, while High Performance work includes drilling, tactical patterns, fitness, point play, and match play. This gives tennis-focused campers access to instruction within the same broader Coronado racket-sports program.
Families can register and manage activities through the Coronado online portal. The center also provides direct program support through its front desk and pro shop, with public phone and email channels for questions before camp. Registration can also be handled by phone or in person. These same channels give families a straightforward way to resolve registration, residency-discount, or facility questions connected with a camp booking.
Program registration can be completed online, by phone, or in person, with full payment due at registration. Proof of Coronado residency is required when a resident discount applies. For Junior Tennis and High Performance camps, families should send lunch, water, and sun protection. Campers using tennis courts should wear non-marking shoes in accordance with facility rules. Because camp tracks vary from shorter Red & Orange Ball programming to full-day Courts to Coast formats, families should use the selected program’s published schedule when planning arrival and pickup.
