Young softball players spend the day building core skills through instruction, drills, and game play at the Reggie Smith Softball Complex. The program is designed for ages 6–12 and centers on the fundamentals that help developing players become more comfortable on the field: throwing, catching, hitting, fielding, base running, and game awareness. Instruction is age-appropriate, and campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience at the director’s discretion.
The camp combines technical practice with team play rather than focusing on only one position or skill. Coaches guide campers through fundamental development each day, with an emphasis on learning how the pieces of the game work together. The published staff-to-camper ratio is 1:10, giving the program a structured small-group feel while still allowing campers to practice alongside other young athletes.
This is a daytime program with regular camp hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Families should plan for campers to bring their own lunch, snacks, water bottle, and personal softball equipment. Participation includes daily softball instruction, supervision during camp hours, and a Nike Softball Camp T-shirt and other camp items. The format is a practical fit for children who want focused softball practice, repeated fundamentals, and supervised time on an outdoor field without an overnight stay.
