Hands-on experiments drive each week at Science Guys of San Diego Camps. Designed for children ages 5–12, the program uses themed science challenges to turn chemistry, physics, engineering, biology, earth science, and space concepts into things campers can build, test, observe, and take home. Camp themes include Crazy Chemistry, CSI: Crazy Science Investigation, Extraordinary Engineering, Funky Physics, Space & Rocketry, STEAM, Superhero Science, and other rotating topics. Camp weeks are limited to 20 participants.
The day runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with several science blocks separated by two snack-and-play breaks and a lunch break. Depending on the theme, children may make chemical reactions, examine fingerprints and DNA, design bridges and catapults, create robots, explore forces such as gravity and magnetism, build and launch rockets, or combine science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Many activities are designed to go home with campers so they can continue exploring after camp.
Camps operate at host sites around San Diego, including school locations in neighborhoods such as University City, Clairemont, and Serra Mesa. Families provide snacks and lunch. This format is a strong fit for children who enjoy active, hands-on learning, varied experiments, and a full day organized around one weekly science theme.
