Westwood Club Camps center the day around themed activities, active play, crafts, and optional swimming at the club’s Rancho Bernardo recreation facility. Summer Day Camp serves children ages 6–12, while a Counselor in Training option is available for ages 13–14. Each summer week has its own theme, giving campers a fresh mix of projects and games without changing the familiar day-camp structure.
Weekly themes range from tropical games and reptile-inspired activities to movie making, playful Olympic-style challenges, sensory exploration, magic, pirate adventures, and water-focused fun. Campers can take part in games and crafts, use optional swim time each day, and receive an afternoon snack. The club operates a 13-acre community recreation facility with a gymnasium, pool, playground, sports fields, courts, miniature golf, and other indoor and outdoor spaces.
This format is a good fit for children who enjoy variety, group activities, creative projects, and movement. Some weeks lean more artistic, while others emphasize active games, water play, or imaginative themes. Regular Summer Day Camp hours run during the daytime, with an optional early extended-hours period. Mini camps are also offered during school breaks for members, using a shorter daytime schedule. Camp materials ask families to send practical swim and activity gear so children are prepared for the day’s mix of movement and water time.

Summer Day Camp is organized as a series of one-week themed sessions. The regular program is for ages 6–12, and the Counselor in Training option extends the summer experience to ages 13–14. Each week uses a distinct theme to shape games, crafts, and special activities, so campers can return for multiple sessions and encounter a different focus.
The published themes show a broad, playful program style. Campers may take part in tropical games and a luau-style week, reptile-themed activities, collaborative short-movie creation, Westwood Club’s own silly Olympic games, sensory exploration, magic, pirate-inspired crafts and treasure-map activities, and water games connected to deep-sea themes. Optional swim time is available every day during Summer Day Camp, alongside regular games and crafts. An afternoon snack is included, while campers bring lunch or money for lunch. Camp materials also mention fun surprises throughout the week.
Regular Summer Day Camp hours are 10:00 AM–4:00 PM Monday through Friday, with optional early extended hours from 8:30 AM–10:00 AM. School-break mini camps use a shorter 11:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule and are listed for members.
Summer Day Camp includes an afternoon snack. Campers are asked to bring lunch or money for lunch, so the program does not publish lunch as part of standard tuition. The flyer also notes that campers may bring money for food purchases. Families should send the other daily items listed for camp, including a swimsuit, sunscreen, towel, and shoes suitable for running games.
Westwood Club maintains facility-wide conduct and aquatics rules for members, guests, and program participants. The club prohibits smoking or vaping, illegal substances, weapons, and glass containers on the property. During summer months, lifeguards are on duty at the swimming pool. Club pool rules prohibit running on the pool deck and limit diving to designated areas when lifeguards are present. The member guide also states that children age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult when lifeguards are not on duty; organized camp participation is supervised separately as a club activity.
For Summer Day Camp, campers should arrive with a swimsuit, sunscreen, towel, lunch or money, and shoes suitable for running games. Regular camp hours are 10:00 AM–4:00 PM Monday through Friday, with optional extended hours from 8:30 AM–10:00 AM. Registration is offered online through the club’s member portal, in person at the front office, or by phone. Space is limited, and the camp materials state that camp fees are non-refundable.
