Musical stories become something children can sing, move through, and help bring to life at ActLiveNow Summer Camp. The program combines musical theater with imaginative activities inspired by Aladdin and The Lion King. Young performers explore songs, dance, and acting while working toward a final performance. Creative projects and group challenges add other ways to take part beyond performing.
Designed for students in grades 1–8, each camp runs for one week and finishes with a performance on the last day. Children can join one themed camp or take part in both. The Aladdin experience draws on the fictional world of Agrabah, with storytelling, role-play, crafts, and puzzle quests. The Lion King experience connects music and movement with animal habitats, nature themes, and teamwork. Each theme gives the week its own mix of creative and active experiences.
The day format brings participants to the Family Life Center in Point Loma, San Diego. For children drawn to musical stories, the combination of singing, dancing, and character play offers several ways to explore performance. Those who also enjoy making things or solving challenges with others can take part in themed art and group activities. Teaching artists with backgrounds in music, theater, and dance guide a program centered on creativity, confidence, and performance skills.

Two musical themes shape the camp experience: Aladdin and The Lion King. Each runs as a separate one-week program, and students may attend one or both. Camp meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Singing, dancing, and acting connect the activities to each musical, with a final performance bringing the week to a close on the last camp day.
For Aladdin, participants explore an Agrabah-inspired world through storytelling and character play. Creative work includes designing market stalls and making themed crafts. Team puzzle quests add opportunities to solve problems together, while drama activities let children act out stories through song and dance. The theme links performance with imaginative making and group exploration.
The Lion King camp uses nature, community, and courage as themes for music, movement, and play. Activities include outdoor scavenger hunts, art projects, obstacle challenges, and rhythm sessions. Children explore animal habitats and ecosystems through themed activities, then work together on missions that involve cooperation and problem-solving. The directing team includes teaching artists with music, theater, and dance backgrounds. Across both programs, the focus is on building creativity, confidence, and performance skills through participation in a musical camp experience.
