Surf camp days combine skill practice on the sand with time in the Pacific at South Mission Beach. Campers ages 5–17 begin with a land lesson covering paddling, pop-up technique, board positioning, wave selection, surfing etiquette, and ocean safety. They then take those skills into the water, where instructors help them catch and ride waves while learning to read changing ocean conditions. The program is designed for both children who are learning to surf and young surfers who want to improve through repeated practice.
Endless Surf Camp offers half-day and full-day formats Monday through Friday. Groups are intentionally kept small so instructors can give more personalized attention, and the owner is on site each day. Surfing equipment is provided, including a foam board with leash, spring wetsuit, and rashguard. Campers also receive a camp T-shirt, with doughnuts provided on Fridays.
The camp operates from a City-permitted site on the sand between the South Mission Beach jetty and the main lifeguard tower. The surrounding public beach area includes parking, bathrooms, showers, a grassy park, basketball courts, and sand volleyball courts. The ocean setting and hands-on format are a fit for campers who enjoy active learning, water-based practice, and building comfort with surfing skills over successive camp days.

Each camp day starts on land, where students learn and rehearse the fundamentals they will use in the water. Instruction includes paddling and pop-up technique, board positioning, wave selection, surfing etiquette, and ocean safety and awareness. After this practice, campers enter the water to work on catching and riding waves. Daily teaching also emphasizes understanding the ocean’s changing conditions and making safe choices while surfing.
The program is offered in half-day and full-day formats and runs Monday through Friday. Groups are purposely kept small to support more personalized instruction. Instructors work with children and adults, and the owner is on site each day. Campers take one 20–30 minute snack or lunch break to rest, rehydrate, and reapply sunscreen.
Core surf equipment is supplied for camp participation: a foam surfboard with leash, a spring wetsuit, and a rashguard. Campers bring their own water bottle and snack or lunch, along with sunscreen, a towel, and a swimsuit worn under the wetsuit. The camp’s approach is practical and progressive: learn a skill on the sand, apply it in the water, and keep refining technique and ocean awareness through repeated practice.
Campers bring their own water bottle and snack or lunch. One 20–30 minute break is built into each camp day so students can rest, rehydrate, and reapply sunscreen. The camp also provides Krispy Kreme doughnuts on Fridays.
Ocean safety and awareness are part of the daily surf instruction. Campers learn about changing ocean conditions and how to stay safe while surfing. Surfing instructors are certified in Open Water Rescue, CPR, and First Aid, and the owner is on site each day to oversee safety and compliance. The camp operates from a City-permitted beach site and keeps groups small for more personalized instruction.
The owner is a San Diego school teacher who has taught elementary physical education since 2002, coached a high school surf team since 2006, and has more than 20 years of surfing experience. Instructors are at least 18 years old, certified in Open Water Rescue, CPR, and First Aid, and are experienced surfers. They are selected for their ability to teach and work with children and adults, while the owner remains on site each day.
Campers should arrive with a water bottle, snack or lunch, sunscreen, towel, and a swimsuit worn under the provided spring wetsuit. A completed liability waiver is required. The camp operates from a 10x10 tent on the sand at South Mission Beach, in front of the bathroom and shower building near the jetty. The surrounding public area includes a large parking lot, bathrooms, showers, a grassy park, basketball courts, and sand volleyball courts.
